Libyan Gold Tektite Scarab Pendant
For the ancient Egyptians the scarab was a symbol of immortality, resurrection, transformation and protection.
This scarab is carved from highest grade Libyan Gold Tektite, a mysterious star-born gem which was formed in a meteorite collision 28 million years ago, in what is now the Sahara desert. Only found here it is one of the rarest gemstones on earth.
Like the more widely-known tektite Moldavite, it is a powerful and high vibrational stone.
It was discovered and revered by the ancient Egyptians, and the centrepiece of the breastplate in Tutankhamun's tomb contained a large scarab carved from golden Tektite.
